Stars Go Dim Since their inception in late 2007, Tulsa-based pop-rocker-foursome Stars Go Dim has captured the attention of a devoted fan base as well as music critics; they took the crown in a series of both fan and industry voted music contests nationwide, including the Country Music Television’s Listener’s Choice Award. In mid-2008, The Urban Tulsa named Stars Go Dim the “best unsigned pop band in Oklahoma.” Their popularity is only strengthened by opening act performances for Switchfoot, Daughtry, Paramore, All American Rejects, The Roots, and John Mayer. Stars Go Dim boasts two Grammy nominated musicians with a musical style that blends pop, rock and smooth soul and feature engaging lyrics held together with captivating melodies. The group recently recorded a self-titled debut EP in anticipation of the first single, “Come Around.” The full-length album, Love Gone Mad, which just released August 4, 2009. Accolades SGD has received numerous awards, both fan and industry based, echoing its popularity in the songwriting and online communities: “Get Over It” won First Prize (Rock/Alternative) of the 2008 USA Songwriting Competition. Won the Country Music Television (CMT) and Nashville Songwriters Association International's (NSAI) 8th Annual Listener's Choice Award for the song "Come Around," the only non-country entry that advanced to final round. The group was voted number one out of 3,000 submissions. Stars Go Dim named USA4Real "Best New Band". Won the May 2008 Rock category in the Song of the Year contest for “Get Over It”. ABC Radio’s Fame Games names SGD All-Time Best Artist. “Incredible” won ‘track of the week’ and ‘track of the month’ on ABC Radio’s Fame Games. Stars Go Dim went on to be Fame Games Artist of the Year. Stars Go Dim won First Prize in the pop category for the Upstate New York Songwriting Contest hosted by Blackdog Recording Studios. "Come Around" chosen as the grand prize winner in The 11th Cooch Music Amateur Songwriting Contest Lead vocalist Chris Cleveland won 1st place for Best Vocalist on SingerUniverse.com. Group runner-up slot in the 2008 Singer/Songwriter Awards for "Come Around". Nominee spot for the Independent Singer Songwriters Award (ISSA) Contest Stars Go Dim recently finished as a semi-finalist in the 2008 UK Songwriting Contest in the Adult Contemporary category for "Come Around." The contest is the leading international annual songwriting event that has been noticed by music community members including Sir Paul McCartney and American Idol's Simon Cowell. Stars Go Dim’s song “Crazy” was nominated for a Hollywood Music Award in the Adult Contemporary Category.
