Total Devastation
Total Devastation

Total Devastation is a rap music group from San Francisco.

The group's album releases include the self-titled "Total Devastation" (1993) and "The Stone Age" (1999). They're best known for their single "Many Clouds of Smoke" from their debut album. Total Devastation's lyrics glorify marijuana usage and promote the legalization of marijuana in America.

Sort of an underachiever version of Cypress Hill, Total Devastation is one of the true pioneers beginning as a trio 1988 with Rasta Redeye, Soopa Dupa, and DJ Tuf Cut Tim the Fat Beat Maker. The San Francisco group released a self-titled debut in 1993 that fused reggae and hip-hop in a single-minded dedication to the subject of marijuana. An underground hit single, Many Clouds of Smoke, guaranteed that the group would issue a follow-up. Total Devastation was reduced to a duo of Rasta Redeye and Big Tone when their highly anticipated sophomore effort, Stone Age, appeared five years later.
