JIM STUBBLEFIELD, a native Californian, has studied jazz, rock, classical, and flamenco guitar. In 1994 Jim released NOVEMBER, an electric instrumental fusion recording, on the Natural Elements record label. It was followed by 1997's all acoustic CITIES OF GOLD which was named as a semi-finalist in that year's "Disc Makers Independent Music Competition". 1998's RHYTHM OF THE HEART, recorded by the JIM STUBBLEFIELD GROUP, was a semi-finalist in NAV magazine's "Acoustic Instrumental Album of the Year" category.
