Jason LaPorte
Jason LaPorte Using looping technology, an acoustic guitar, microphone, and whatever musical talents God has bestowed upon me, I make music that has been labeled as organic-acoustic-roots-groove music. I draw most of my influence from, but not limited to, rock, blues, reggae, and hip hop. I have come a long way musically in the past number years and it feels like I have been through so much, but that is just the way life comes at you, with so much more to come. Back at the end of my 2006 spring college semester I began dabbling around for a few shows with some friends at Howards Club H in Bowling Green, Ohio on a low end red acoustic guitar and decided this is where I wanted to take my music. I moved away from loud, heavy music (though I still appreciate it immensely), and had grown into the sonic tonal range of the acoustic guitar.

I purchased a Martin acoustic guitar (named her Mary Jane Martin) and set out to the summer of 2006 which brought me to having a weekly gig at Maxwells Brew next to The University of Toledo. I then began playing many gigs in various bars and clubs in northern Ohio and have had the pleasure of playing with some very cool musicians such as The Movement, ekoostik hookah, Tim Reynolds, The Macpodz, Alex Winston, Jason Reeves, Chavar Dontae, Katz-n-jammers, The Silent Years, Chris Knopp, Resonant Soul, Jeff Stewart, and so many others! I even had the honor of coming runner up my first year playing out as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter in the Toledo City Paper's Best of Toledo, OH for Best Solo Act in town. I graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts degree from The University of Toledo the spring of 2008 which has allowed me to dedicate more time to music. I met the love of my life and we married in May of 2010 and life has been bliss ever since. I am currently working on getting a record released and merchandise available so be sure to look for both soon (hopefully)! Be sure to show some love and support by coming to shows, staying in touch, letting me know your thoughts, whatever it may be! SUPPORT LAPORTE! Peace...
