Lifelike As many lucky teenagers from the late eighties, Laurent started as a bass player in a small high school band influenced mainly by new-wave and pop music acts like Cabaret Voltaire, Frankie Goes To Hollywood or Simple Minds and discovered the art of sampling thru the first popular 8/16bits computers. Producing first for other artists in the early & mid nineties, he joined the Parisian label 20000ST in 2001 (which was responsible for the hit single of Demon "You Are My High") to release his very first single. Massively playlisted by DJs like Alex Gopher and supported by the Parisian radio FG, "The Soul Of…" become in a few month the classic summer 2002 club anthem reaching place n°5 in the French dance charts. A few months later, the single "Black Chess" ("The Cult" EP A-side), a dark but dancefloor track, was choosed by Thomas Bangalter, Philippe Zdar & DJ Falcon for the famous Toghether Tour 2002 as their first record played in each gig, and became an anthem.

Remixing for a incredibly large range of artists or high rated labels like Ed Banger, Kitsuné, Chromeo, Sébastien Leger, Van She, Front 242, Dimitri From Paris, Annie ... helped Laurent to establish his trademark thru a very special kind of sound.

His meeting later with the german producer Kris Menace in winter 2004, ended up by the now famous track Discopolis: simply one of the biggest underground selling anthem of 2005/2006 (the track is still played today by DJ's all around the world !). The track, picked up by Alan Braxe (Stardust "Music Sounds Better With You") on his label Vulture, has been re-released on Defected in late October 2006 with video support from Seb Janiak (Daft Punk "Burnin"'s video director) and new remixes (Alan braxe, Chris Lake, Kerri Chandler.)

So Electric, the long awaited follow up to Discopolis, has been on the same way than Discopolis and gained huge support especially in the USA which lead him to tour in summer 2008 with Alan Braxe for 10 dates in America and Canada. The track was signed on PIAS & Wall Of Sound (homelabels of Tiga, Stuart Price, Vitalic, 2 Many DJ's, Felix Da Housecat...).

We can count on 2009 to be a very good 'lifelike' year as well. The new single called "Sunset/Sequencer" is to be released on Vulture in February, will actually be the first "real" vocal project of the label. 'Sunset' features a performance of the Swedish singer Yota.
