Indie rock band Mass Solo Revolt was formed in Athens, GA, by Martin Brummeler (guitar, vocals). Brummeler eventually added long time friend and musical collaborator, James Frye (bass). Both had moved to Athens from Ypsilanti, MI, where their previous bands, Data Cadet (Westside) and Propeller (Makoto Recordings), had released records. Their bands were legendary for their intense, incredibly tight live performances of smart, inventive post-rock songs which laid the ground work for what Mass Solo Revolt has become.
