DJ Element
DJ Element DJ Element started in 1993 as MC Element at age 13, in Maryland, MCing and writing lyrics and tags in books, and making mixtapes on tapes. He first started playing records in 1997 in Seattle. His DJ career started very soon after. Playing at festivals and shows, as well as starting the first Reggae Night in the resort town of Sandpoint, ID and Djing and organizing at the first 3 original Northwest Reggae Festival shows. From then he continued spinning Reggae / Dancehall and started Djing clubs with hip hop and mash ups. Since 98' he has played alongside or opened for Reggae stars including: Buju Banton, Damian Marley, Barrington Levy, Beres Hammond, Collie Buddz, Morgan Heritage, Luciano, Mikey General, Elephant Man, Culture, The Abyssinians, Ras Attitude, Rocker T, Joseph Israel, Jr. Reid, Everton Blendor, Prezident Brown, Ras Shiloh, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah, Norrisman, Mikey Dread, Pablo Moses, Daweh Congo, Twinkle Brothers, The Congos, Clinton Fearon, Alpha Blondy, Jah Sun, Ishi Dube, Sugar Minott, Assasin, Yellowman, Sly & Robbie, Cherine Anderson and more. Element has performed locally in Seattle at venues like Chop Suey, Nectar, Larry's, Trinity, Oseao, Neumos, Vito's, Waid's Haitian Bar & Lounge, Scarlet Tree, Nectar, Belltown Billards, Lo Fi, The Ballroom, Toi, etc. He DJs Monday in Seattle at The Baltic Room and at live shows monthly.
