The Electric Jake Rhythm Test
The Electric Jake Rhythm Test Formed in the spring of 2007, The Electric Jake Rhythm Test have quickly established themselves on the Seattle scene with their unique blend of R&B, jazz, neo-soul, rock, and hip hop. Driven by the vocal and guitar stylings of front man Electric Jake (The Filthy None; The Drunken Guitarists), the soulful bass grooves of Scotty X (Altered States of Funk; Role: One), and the smooth keyboard voicings of Bryce Williams (Groovology), the definitive foundation was set for this fresh musical force. The addition of guitarist/keyboardist Dan Schmidt (Flowmotion; The Filthy None; The Drunken Guitarists) and drummer Ryan Wollen (The Cauze; Translated) solidified the powerhouse musicianship behind the group. After recording a 3 song demo with renowned Seattle engineer Dan Slinger, entitled The Flying Squirrel Sessions, the band began securing shows around the northwest. Joined by John Fricke on trumpet and Erin Ashurst on backing vocals, the group continues to rehearse and gig regularly, honing their unique sound and producing new material while spreading the word to the masses. A studio album is scheduled for release in spring of 2008.
