Same Blood Folk
Same Blood Folk Upstate NY Live Music Guide's Erik Jensen says, "Jenny Collins is the startling lead voice for the Hamilton based Same Blood Folk. This amazing, (and let me emphasize amazing) three piece Americana band, is one of the best kept secrets in the Upstate music scene. Very swampy, incredibly catchy, and unbelievably adept, vocally and musically - this band has Grassroots Festival written all over it!"

Their style resonates with the roots of Americana and traditional music, bluegrass and rock, for compelling and soulful original songs, written by both Zachary Collins and Jenny Collins.

Jenny Collins brings her textured voice and innovative songwriting to the band's distinctly mature sound. Rich and clear as honey, her vocals add depth and character to songs she's written and delightfully balanced harmony to duets. A seasoned performer who has opened for such acts as Blues Traveler and Little Feat, Jenny evokes layers of resonance and rhythm from the bass guitar while showcasing her natural musical ability with the acoustic guitar, harmonica and stomp box.

Zachary Collins has played the guitar since he was 6 and wrote his first song at the age of 11. His influence on the band's signature songs sets the scene for the melancholy and euphoric temperament. His mesmerizing guitar talents show themselves on occasion but aren't overpowering or boasty. Zach's voice is measured, reassuring, even poetic. He easily moves from acoustic to electric guitar, mandolin, and banjo.

Brendan O'Connor is a recent addition to the band, but hit the ground (and the drums) running with a complementary style, an appreciation for traditional music and a family history of music as well. Brendan is a senior majoring in philosophy at Colgate University and has played with a series of bands since he began making music seriously five years ago.
