When we last saw Carolina Liar, the band was touring in support of 2008's Coming To Terms, a disc hailed by Rolling Stone for "fusing the anthemic elements of U2 and the Killers with the electro production of Swedish pop maestro Max Martin." Fueled by hit singles "I'm Not Over" and "Show Me What I'm Looking For," Carolina Liar blanketed both radio and television, generating nationwide airplay at modern rock and alternative while also appearing in shows such as "The Vampire Diaries," "American Idol," "Gossip Girl," "The Hills," and many more (MTV actually licensed the entire album). Spotlighted as an iTunes Single of the Week, "Show Me What I'm Looking For" logged more than 600,000 downloads and "I'm Not Over" shot to No. 3 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart.
The LA-based band (vocalist/guitarist Chad Wolf, lead guitarist Rickard Goransson, bassist/keyboardist Johan Carlsson and drummer Peter Karlsson) toured endlessly in support of the album, sharing stages with the likes of One Republic, Rob Thomas and The Academy Is… They also performed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "The Ellen Degeneres Show," played themselves in an episode of "90210," were spotlighted as a Rolling Stone "Breaking" artist and were featured in both MTV’s "Discover & Download" and VH1’s "You Oughta Know" programs.
On September 27th, they return with new album WILD BLESSED FREEDOM. The highly anticipated disc was recorded with producers Max Martin (Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Pink), Shellback (Usher, Ke$ha) and Tobias Karlsson at Maratone Studios in Stockholm and Los Angeles. "DROWN," the album’s hook-filled lead single, debuts on iTunes the week of July 11th. As vocalist/guitarist Chad Wolf told Billboard, "It's a song about coming to terms with the decision to start a new life -- just jump in headfirst and be set free."
