Originally from Flagstaff, AZ., brothers gow is currently based out of San Diego, CA. Borrowing from a massive cache of influences, this funk-rock-improv quintet relies on thoughtful lyrics, deep grooves, and improvisational tact that allows them creative freedom during their live performance. Having acquired over 60,000 miles on their tour van since 2007, brothers gow has also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Delta Nove, B-Side Players, Earphunk, Badfish, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Blue Turtle Seduction, and Eric McFadden Trio, to name a few.
The band claims an eclectic fusion of rock, funk, jazz, and reggae as the broad genres they play within. Combine the bands energetic stage presence with powerful vocal harmonies, complex arrangements, ripping guitar solos and the bands awe inspiring light show, and you get the recipe for a truly memorable concert experience. Their sixth member, Matt Collier (MC6), brings his own artistic nuance to add to the overall dynamic of the concert experience. With a three tier intelligent lighting rig and advanced software, Collier uses texture and movement to create a truly dynamic and engaging light show. This style of live and interactive lighting brings an incredible energy for the band and listener to latch onto.
Since their relocation to Ocean Beach California, the band has made strides within their beloved beach community. The last 9 months of touring and relentless local gigging have the boys poised to continue to up the anti. After a hugely successful CD release party at Winston's in OB, and appearances at the Orange County Music Fest and Ocean Beach Street Fair, the band continues to up the anti of concert throwing potential.
Now, with the release of their first full length album “Chapters”, Brothers Gow couldn't be more excited about the future. The record is 12 tracks of genre fusing chameleon rock – with something for everyone. Recorded in “The Lair” in the Historic Gas Lamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, the bands sound has found it's voice. Aggressive rock, laid-back reggae, and soulful ballads intertwine to tell the story of what the band is all about – friendship, camaraderie, and an obsession with doing what they love.
