Paul Mercer Ellington is the Conductor and Bandleader for the Duke Ellington Orchestra. He is also a noted songwriter and producer. H has a degree in Filmmaking from The Vancouver Film School which was completed in February of 2006. In addition he received a scholarship to attend The Vancouver Film School's screenwriting program in 2007. Paul completed that program and while there wrote, A Duke Named Ellington, which is a biopic about his grandfather Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington.
