ROMP
ROMP ROMP is an acoustic swing band from Lincoln, Vermont. The foundation of the band features Billy Romp on mandolin and his son Henry Romp on upright bass. Billy and Henry played sporadically with Brian Hanf and Christopher Lane (among others) on guitar beginning as early as 2000. The four musicians didn't play as a quartet until a BMW motorcycle swap meet gig in Rochester, Vermont in the summer of 2008. Recently, the act became a quintet, adding Nate Wallace-Gusakov on banjo. ROMP music is a mixture of traditional bluegrass, folk, swing, rock and jazz (with a good deal of humor mixed in). The music defies any category and is better described as distictly "ROMPing" or "ROMPish." However you describe the sound, ROMP shows are always high energy, danceable celebrations of music and life!
