Erik Hartley Band
Erik Hartley Band Erik's songwriting is so intriguingly different than most. He often takes a kind of cynical optimism from the man's perspective; generally at the sour end of a relationship. It creates these wonderful ballads that lyrically bash his previous love interests, while still, somehow, maintaining this romantic, mushy, make-out atmosphere. It becomes this actual audio contradiction of emotion, illustrating the confusion we all feel at those times, and blends them into something so real and tangible, it begs the listener to linger in the melody and call up similar memories, or imagine themselves in his position.

Born in Mission Viejo, California, Erik had already seen the country before the age of five; living for short periods of time in Kansas City, Kansas, Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, and Detroit, Michigan. While growing up Erik became immersed in his father's emotional Motown and Soul favorites and his mother's angst and protest infused 60s rock. And soon after picking up his first guitar, his parents watched as what had began as a suggested hobby, soon became an artistic obsession.

Thirteen years of callus shield his fingertips now, and with blistered hands, broken strings and battered guitars, his music has begun to reach an ever-growing audience to countries across the world.
