Volifonix
Volifonix Two brothers, two others. Volifonix is an experimental funk-rock band with a psychedelic twist that originated in Oakland, Oregon with brothers Blake and Trevor Forbess. Blake and Trevor joined with Elijah Medina after hearing him play outside Sutherlin High School. The three of them moved their music to Eugene, Oregon and hooked up with University of Oregon student Joe McClain. Musical symmetry. The guys couldn’t find a name that reflected their music so they made one up. Voli is a Latin root meaning ‘free will’ and phonic means ‘pertaining to sound.’ They switched out a couple of letters to make the name distinctive and there you have it; the sound of free will. They do that with their music, too. These hot musicians are a little Incubus, some RHCP, a touch of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd - mixed up with an innovative, original, rockin' sound. They're crazy-talented and freshly entertaining - like nothin' you've heard before. Seriously.
