Guns for San Sebastian
Guns for San Sebastian Heavily influenced by 60s and 70s rock, travel, blues, and saturated tube amps, Guns for San Sebastian plays inspired music exploding with soul, power, and love. Lead singer Charlie Marvin spent years on the road in America and Europe, playing to make ends meet, and experiencing life in a way that would shape his songs and vocal style forever. Upon returning to the Bay Area three years ago, he met JJ White and Lorne Smith who had been playing together around the Bay Area for six years developing a tight guitar and harmonica attack. Immediately they began jamming and writing the first of what would become Guns for San Sebastian songs.

When Matt Kelly joined on drums, his polyrhythmic approach and fusion/progressive background added a new layer of style which created a whole new dynamic. Knowing that they would soon need a bass replacement in the Spring of 2010, after a show with Big Light at the Independent, Lorne asked Steve Adams (ALO, Big Light) if he knew any bass players that might be into it. Steve said he thought he might know of someone, and soon after Jesse Cafiero joined the band just a few months after moving to SF from the East Coast. With Jesse on bass, GSS has evolved into a five-headed beast joined together on a journey to conquer.
