Jeremy Lister
Jeremy Lister I grew up in the middle of Mississippi surrounded by cow fields and oversized trucks--not the ideal surroundings for an aspiring musician, but it was home and I still have a soft spot in the old ticker for it. My family had deep roots in music, and my older brother, Richie, and I followed suit. We grew up in a conservative setting and would have to sneak our favorite rock albums in and find them a good hiding place. My mom allowed me to listen to the oldies station, and that sparked a serious love affair with music from the 60's and 70's.

My parents were supportive of my habit and I always had the instruments I needed, though I didn't really stick to one until recieving a guitar for Christmas my senior year of high school. This opened a brand new door for me and I found how much I enjoyed writing. "Siren Song" is the first song I ever wrote, and heartbreak was the cause. I was in a variety of bands then from folk to a barbershop quartet. After graduating high school, I, along with my brother, joined the band Geronimo Rex.

For the next few years, we toured the southeast, made several recordings, and learned how to survive on Ramen noodles and beer. We recorded a few tracks in Nashville, where I frequented the nightlife and acquainted myself with the music scene. I really liked what I saw and in 2003 decided to make it home.

I released my first solo EP "Shooting Star" the day before moving. For work, I bartended at an Italian restaurant to keep up my noodle diet and played writers nights around town to get my feet wet. I tossed my CD around to any and everyone who would take it, and soon thereafter had a band together headlining shows. My stereotypes about Nashville were not entirely valid. I was blown away by some of the non-country music that was (and still is) around. The city and it's artists spawned a creative blossom in me like I'd never experienced before. In 2005, I released my second EP "So Far" which was a collection of my favorite recordings from the prior two years.

I'm very excited about some of my latest work, and I look forward to sharing it with you. I recently signed with Warner Bros. Records and am getting geared to record an album with them..... Until then, stay tuned......
