D3 D3 formed in 2007 when three guys with similar backgrounds met each other a long way from home. Darren Fisher (drums) made the westward migration to Portland, Oregon from Massachusetts in the summer of '07. Keyboardist Chris Phillips moved to Portland in 2006 after an exciting musical journey through the Chicago area, southern Illinois, St. Louis and all over the Midwest. The group began with Phillips and Fisher working on a new project that would support a lot of duo material until they felt a third voice would help expand the project. They found this voice in area bassist Arcellus Skyes, also a Midwest native. The three enjoy a dynamic chemistry which blends their interests in nu-jazz, fusion, and experimental music.
