Chronic Funk Chronic Funk is a Portland Maine based band that has been playing that started ten years ago as a side project for members of other groups who knew and liked each others music. In 2002 lead guitarist and vocalist Nick Halperin made the band his primary project, and took it to a new level. Providing vocals in the traditions of James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Steve Wonder and guitar work reminiscent of Jimmy Herring, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, Halperin drives Chronic Funk's incendiary live shows, - shows that explore the boundaries of improve and groove while combining sets of offbeat cover songs and original material.
