I was standing backstage at the Continental Club one night talking with rockabilly legend Billy C. Riley while Jesse Dayton set up. Riley had his back to the stage when Dayton looked at his band, gave the nod, and jumped on the accelerator. The opening salvo was so highly charged and super-amped that Riley involuntarily ducked.
