The 2nd Annual All-star Birthday Tribute to Bob Dylan and Benefit for DPS Foundation Music Programs, “Dylan66”, was be held Thursday, May 24, 2007 in Denver at Colorado's historic Oriental Theater. This years' event featured some 40 Colorado musicians paying tribute to Bob Dylan on his 66th Birthday while raising money for music programs in Denver Public Schools. The initial event, “Dylan65”, was held on Bob Dylan's 65th birthday on May 24th, 2006 at Denver's Oriental. Dylan fans gave the shows raving reviews and the buzz is still being talked about some 9 months later. Last years' events were a sensational success and featured 36 Colorado musicians joining event creator/organizer Dewey Paul (Moffitt) on stage for nothing but inspiring and soulful renditions of Dylan material in both the acoustic and electric formats. Members of Leftover Salmon, Double Parked, The Railbenders, Sonia Dada, Spiv, The Trampolines, and more aligned themselves with prominent area singer-songwriters Angie Stevens, Dan Walker, Brian Sofer, Terry Dalton, John Common, among many others. It wasn't long before the idea of creating an actual core touring band emerged. The band Dylan66 will unite and hit the road in the summer of 2007, kicking off the tour in Colorado in mid June. Led by Denver's pre-eminent music impresario Dewey Paul, the Dylan66 band will boast its' all-stars from the last years' Dylan65 shows. The group will showcase the acoustic and electric sides of Dylan spanning his entire career. This years' touring band will feature the following Musicians: Dylan66: The Songs of Bob Dylan.
