Formed in Dublin, Eire, in 1969, The Lizzy comprised Phil Lynott (b. 20 August 1949, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, d. 4 January 1986, lived in Eire; vocals, bass), Eric Bell (b. 3 September 1947, Belfast, Northern Ireland; guitar) and Brian Downey (b. 27 January 1951, Dublin, Eire; drums). They made their recorded debut on Parlophone Records in July 1970 with the rare single "The Farmer". After signing to Decca Records, they issued two albums, neither of which charted.
