The Grass is Dead
The Grass is Dead The Grass is Dead was formed in 1998 by Billy Gilmore and members of South Florida Grateful Dead cover band Crazy Fingers. The initial line-up was Billy Gilmore (Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Dobro, Guitar, Vocals), Corey Dwyer (Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals), Brent Hopper (Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals) & Bubba Newton (Bass). Performing regularly in the South Florida area for more than a decade and doing a few out of state festivals, the band released three full length albums doing different arrangements and interpretations of Grateful Dead tunes. After the loss of band-mate and best friend Corey Dwyer in May 2014, the band is getting ready to hit the road in 2015 touring and featuring guest musicians. They are looking forward to positive changes and to be making music together again...
