Marci Curtis Band The Marci Curtis Band is starting to gain a following in the Salem, OR area and this is only the beginning. Besides being a talented vocalist and guitar player, Marci is also a phenomenal songwriter. The Marci Curtis Band's live performances are soulful, energetic and captivating; usually leaving the audience wanting to hear more.

Marci Curtis is a trained musician and vocalist who mainly sings in the styles of blues, jazz, rock, folk, and pop music. Marci was raised in Pendleton, OR and has been singing since the age of five, getting her start in the church choir. She started training in high school and continued on into college. Marci has worked with many jazz groups, such as Amack Records' vocalist, DyAnne, out of Oakland, CA. She is also the co-founder of the group Textuur which played around the Los Angeles, CA area. Now based in Salem, with her band the Marci Curtis Band, she hopes to continue to share and grow as a musician. Most recently, Marci can be seen in the independent film, "LA Blues", written and directed by Ian Gurvitz and starring Anthony Michael Hall. Her song "You Boy" is featured in the movie. On August 25, 2006 Marci won the title of "The New Voice of Salem" in the local super blues bar Lefty's vocal sing off. The first female ever to win!

Marci is backed up by guitarist Alex Curtis, bassist John Shaw and drummer Robert Pettit. Alex, a smooth yet fiery guitarist, has been playing music for twenty years and has played with the Rebel Soul Band, Baba Kazah, and Elevator. Alex currently performs with the Keizer Big Band. John Shaw is a student at WOU and adds a definite jazz influence with his superb upright bass playing. John is also involved with several groups related to the WOU music program. 'Bongo' Bob Pettit, always inspired by music, started playing drums at the age of 10. He played in stage bands in grade school, high school and college, and studied drums privately with Don Worth in Portland. Bob has spent many years playing out in various groups around Oregon and currently loves the blues with "The Summit Underground".
