The Rivertown Girls was formed just a few short years ago. The group consists of Mary Cathryn Smith (fiddle Player age 16), Sharyln Marie Smith (mandolin Player age 13) "sisters", & Carolyne Van Lierop (banjo player age 15) they are all 1st cousins. Buddy Smith (acoustic Gutair) is their grandfather, and Mr. Angus Hall (Bass Player) is a dear friend and family to them all. They started off playing in churches and at jam sessions when they went to bluegrass festivals. It wasn't very long before they were being asked to play at different places. Now they are playing every weekend. They started learning their instruments in 1999 and haven't let up since. They currently have two cd's the first cd is called "First Tracks", the newest one is "When Jesus Knocks" which is gospel bluegrass. They just finished up their 3rd cd and it should be out in the next couple of months. To our bluegrass family out there, Thanks for always supporting us and working so hard to promote us. It doesn't go unnoticed. =) We love you all so much. To our family and adopted grandparents out there you know who you are...you are always in our hearts...Thank you for always believing in us.
