Hailing from the suburbs of Paris, Sébastien Schuller thrives on enhancing sounds of acoustic and natural resonance with touches of electronica. You may already be aware of Sébastien from his collaborations on various projects including “Le Curnel”, his collaborative effort with different bands, including members of the Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene. We are most pleased to welcome this accomplished multi-instrumentalist and vocalist to Minty Fresh for his solo debut “Happiness”.
In addition to playing the large festival circuits in France, Belgium, and Spain, Sébastien has been busy creating soundtracks for films: the critically acclaimed French noir, “Media Couticelle” and American indie films. Recently we had the good fortune of attending Sébastien’s sold out Paris performance in front of a packed house and watched as Sébastien’s melding of soaring melodies and wistful melancholy stilled a buzzing crowd of European musos into awestruck silence: Captivated.
His American debut, “Happiness,” intertwines threads of beauty and sadness with strands of optimism and anticipation of the future. Sébastien Schuller utilizes his talent to create a myriad of noise that builds upon forces of electronics and with percussive precision, bringing each piece into an increasingly full and dreamy near-dance groove.
