Born Leonard Meranus, Livingston Leo is a true native son of New Jersey. He was born in 1964, and has lived all his life in the Essex County town of Livingston.
At 13 Leo picked up the guitar and became consumed by playing 12 bar blues, making funny rhymes, and calling them songs. Although he became proficient enough to play open mics and college parties Leo realized that it was his salesmanship that set him apart from the other guitar players. Leo tried his hand at managing. Leo road managed Debbie Davies, and for two years of bliss, Leo was hired to travel with Los Lobos. With encouragement from the members of Los Lobos and drummer, good friend Rich Monica Jr., he began to develop his Livingston Leo persona. "When I started to get my songs together, I realized my strongest material were my songs about BBQ'N and eating, my two favorite pastimes." Leo recently completed his first full length record, "BBQ'N With My Baby"
