The Blue Roots
The Blue Roots The Blue Roots has gained a reputation as the Bay Area’s most authentic young roots and blues dance band. Inspired by the rich musical heritage of New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta, the band combines the influences of artists such as Fats Domino, Louis Armstrong, Bo-Diddley, and Muddy Waters to create their own unique sound.

The Blue Root’s own songwriting remains true to its sources without sounding derivative and their live performances flow seamlessly between classic covers and finely crafted originals. The SF Weekly called The Blue Roots “…a band almost too good to be true…the Blue Roots are the answer to your gravel-voiced, soul-soaked, folk blues prayers.”

The Blue Roots continually pack the house at Bay Area venues including San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, The Independent, and Berkeley’s Ashkenaz. They have reached mass audiences through KPFA and KDVS and have entertained at numerous private parties, weddings, and corporate events with their soulful down-home sound.
