East Coast Dirt
East Coast Dirt This Asheville-based sonic monster takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride with funky bass, thick organs, edgy guitar riffs, and a driving drum section matched with creative songwriting and vocals. Elements of rock, soul and funk are the initial ingredients for ECD's self-coined "Sneaker Boogaloo" - a danceable music-blender of styles, sounds and personas. ECD has been crafting their skills as a team with spontaneity, discovery and polish since early 2007. Original members Wilson Hawes (bass, guitar), Brad Boughton (drums, vocals) and Will Little (keyboards, guitar) have recently added Travis Bossler (percussion) and Alex Robertson (guitar) to the full-time lineup. The collective chemistry at live shows is obvious with improvisations and compositions taking place simultaneously, all while connecting to the crowd, keeping all ages happy, smiling and on the dance floor. Ranging from Knoxville to Charleston, and Atlanta to Virginia, music lovers have continuously shown their love and support for the band over the past four years, and now their music is reaching an even broader fan base as they explore many new venues in support of their self-titled release. Currently available through iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and eMusic, the album was recorded at Asheville's Collapseable Studios, and showcases all aspects of their growth as a band. The album then reached Relix Magazine's national radio charts in April 2011. All in all, East Coast Dirt is a rock-n-roll band for the coming days, bringing with them the spirit of the classics we often miss in today's modern music.
