    Smooth, sexy funk! Porterhouse's music is an instrumental blend of funk, jazz, and soul with a hint of rock. In the last eight months they have created a buzz in the local music scene by playing inspired performances from San Diego to Seattle. The group was formed by keyboardist Joey Porter (formerly of Rubberneck and Five Fingers of Funk), who enlisted Micah Kassel on drums, Josh Cliburn on tenor saxophone, and Scott Pemberton on the guitar. Porterhouse has a set list that includes mostly original tunes that are funky enough for dancers and cerebral enough for jazz enthusaists. The band has played with many national acts including Parliament Funkadelic, John Scofield, Galactic, Robert Walter, the Jazz Mandolin Project, Vinyl, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
