The Howl
The Howl Drawing inspiration from the blues (read Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf), R-n-B (read Otis Redding, James Carr), and rock and roll (read The Faces, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Band), The Howl combines the energy and urgency of rock and roll with the intimacy and unique interplay of the power trio to create a sound that is striking and powerful. The Howl deliver giant, warm guitar tones, cutting vocals, deep-pocket grooves, and near-telepathic musicianship.

Troy Gonyea (guitar and vocals) left a two-year stint as sole guitarist in The Fabulous Thunderbirds, the veteran rock and rollers from Austin, Texas, in order to bring the Howl into being together with JB (bass) and Justin Berthiaume (drums). In 2005, the band recorded its debut CD Megahorn Breakdown Suite, featuring nine original, finely-crafted rock songs..
