Nate LaPointe Band
Nate LaPointe Band The Nate LaPointe Band is comprised of players from a strong jazz background, with rootsy and eclectic songwriting and improvisation as it’s basis. The unique writing collaboration of Nate LaPointe and Tim Campbell creates lyrics from the heart and songs that speak to many. From introspective ballads like "Keep Me By" and "I’ll Put You First" to bring-down-the-house rockers like "Take Your Chances" and "Here I Come Again" the band will surely take you on a musical journey that threads through various genres, incomparable in style and talent.

NLB was originally formed in 2004 as a songwriting outlet for Nate and Tim. It evolved into the Nate LaPointe Trio when bassist Ivan Johnson was added to the group to play shows around LA. The Trio toured a bit and found the need to add other musicians. Filling this fourth spot was Dan Franklin on guitar and mandolin and also sometimes Jamieson Trotter on keyboards. The group opened up for Cubensis featuring Vince Welnick on their Spring 2006 California tour. Now with David Johnson on keys, Chris Payne on drums, and Bryan Landers occasionally sitting in on banjo, the group has refined it's chops as LA's coolest new songwriter/jam band. The upright bass is a defining sound of the group along with Nate's passionate and skillful guitar and vocal work.

The band's self-titled debut cd was released in December 2005. In fall 2006, the band released a free 5-song demo featuring 2 new original songs by Nate and new arrangements of existing songs from the studio CD. Don’t miss the Nate LaPointe Band next time they come to your town.
