Blind since birth, 16 yr. old piano and guitar phenom, Conrad Oberg, taught himself to play music on a toy piano at age two and a half. By the time he was four, he could play anything he heard, and was performing live at weddings and public events.
On his 10th birthday, Conrad recorded his first album with Jerry Lee Lewis' band at Sun Studio in Memphis and was given his first guitar. Within a year, the young boy was fronting his own band, and headlining major blues festivals and clubs throughout the south.
In 2008, 12 million Cartoon Network viewers chose Conrad as the most talented teen musician in the country on their show "Props!" A year later at the age of 15, Conrad was given the ultimate honor when chosen to open the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock, at the site of the original festival in 1969. At Woodstock, Conrad performed a solo version of "The Star Spangled Banner," in tribute to Jimi Hendrix.
In addition to fronting his own band, in recent years, Conrad has also been performing as guest lead guitar with other bands such as JJ Grey and Mofro, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
Conrad expanded his horizons when the Nikon corporation tapped him to compose and perform the score for a film which accompanied the release of their latest high definition camera. The film was featured on the company's website, and at press conferences around the world.
Conrad has been featured by CNN, USA Today, Rolling Stone, Premiere Guitar Magazine, and hundreds of other media outlets throughout the world.
