Gary Burton Five-time Grammy winner Gary Burton reunites his 1980s quartet with guitarist, and former protégé, Pat Metheny; electric bass guitarist Steve Swallow; and Metheny drummer Antonio Sanchez. Burton, with his innovative four-mallet technique, first stormed the music world as the “boy genius” vibraphonist with Stan Getz in the early ’60s. He was also an important progenitor of the jazz/rock movement, catching the ear of the ‘60s counter-culture and paving the way for others to follow.
