Representing 3 area codes (Keene, NH, Cincinnati, OH, and Aurora, Illinois), the 3 artists came together by coincidence. In 2001, Adeem played 2 shows in Cincinnati and Chicago that became the beginning of glue.
Without the intention of creating a new group it become inevitable to Adeem after seeing djdq scratch and drum with one turntable and after hearing maker’s beats. Excited about the prospect of working with these 2 artists and combining what they offered individually, Adeem proposed the idea of a new group. 2 weeks later they all come together in Aurora, Il driving 2000 miles roundtrip with the hope of finding something new. The result turned out to be a fresh vessel to carry the message and music they knew they could make but never found the right people to make it with, until now. They asked the question, what happens when you stuff 3 artists into a basement named the Sunset Lodge in Aurora, IL for a month with nothing but a digital 8 track, computer, 1 mic, and 1 turntable? You get the soulful sound of GLUE.
The solo success of each member established GLUE'S foundation. Adeem is the only 2-time winner of the infamous Scribble Jam mc battle and is a member of the groups 1200 Hobos, Adeem&Shalem, and The Dorian Three. djdq is a self-proclaimed folktablist recording his music manually without the help of today’s technology and is part of the turntable band the Animal Crackers which took 2nd place in the 2004 DMC team battle. 2005 saw him doing a remix for world famous DJ D-styles for his song Felonious Funk. djdq has become a fan and critic favorite with his innovation in scratching and composition on each GLUE song. Maker is critically acclaimed in the world of instrumental production, carving out his own niche by working with Chicago’s finest record labels such as Birthwrite and Galapagos4 and creating his own sound. All 3 members have released solo albums in the Japan and Europe making fans worldwide.
GLUE quickly adjusted to the atmosphere of the stage and developed a reputation for their dynamic live shows. Understanding what it takes
to survive as a musician and transform a work ethic from hobby to career, the group adopted a policy of touring constantly. They performed over 350 shows in the last 3 years including the entire VANS WARPED TOUR in 2004 and 2005’s SCRIBBLE JAM TOUR with Mr. Dibbs and Blueprint. Continuing their journey to pay dues and wake up the heavy sleepers in 2006 GLUE embarked a west coast tour with old dominion artist sleep and on a 40 city tour in the fall to support of "Catch As Catch Can" with Epitaph/Anti recording artists Sol.ILLaquists of Sound, nonsense recording artists X: 144 & DJ SPS, and Rhode Island best rapper, Prolyphic. 2007 started off with the “3 the hard way” tour, which spanned the country, 30 shows in 33 days. Obviously, they show no signs of stopping anytime soon.
After making so much noise in the music scene with the help of indie label pioneers Shake it Records, GLUE has taken their first big step signing a multi-album deal with Fatbeats records. They release their eagerly anticipated 2nd full-length album "Catch As Catch Can" in FALL 2006. The newest offering is another landmark in GLUES evolving sound, more hi-fi than the analog sound of “Seconds Away” and more fully realized than the brief but inimitable EP “Sunset Lodge”. "Catch As Catch Can" stands out as GLUES best work: Infectious, honest, and full of soul.
