Legion of Mary
Legion of Mary The Legion of Mary was a side project of the Grateful Dead's lead guitarist, singer, and defacto leader Jerry Garcia. The band lasted from January 23, 1975 to June 6, 1975. Its members were Garcia (guitar and vocals), Merl Saunders (keyboards and vocals), John Kahn (bass), Martin Fierro, (saxophone and flute) and Ron Tutt (drums). The band primarily played blues, R&B, and gospel in their concerts. Their only official recording to date was released on Rhino Records in August 2005, under the name The Jerry Garcia Collection, Volume 1: Legion of Mary; it is a two-disc set of live performances.
