Victoria Vox began writing songs when she was 10, using the beats and sounds of her VT-400 Casio keyboard. Following her dreams, Vox graduated from The Berklee College of Music with honors and a degree in songwriting -- releasing a handful of DIY, guitar-driven albums before a friend gave her an 'ukulele.
Her debut 'ukulele album, Victoria Vox and Her Jumping Flea was released in 2006 on her own label, OBUS Music, and Vox was offered an endorsement deal with KoAloha Ukuleles (Honolulu, HI), while she was touring the Hawaiian Islands. The refreshing disc was well received, and featured on NPR, while songs were featured on television and in independent films. Vox has also been awarded runner-up for "My Darlin' Beau" (Jumping Flea) and First Place for "C'est Noyé" (from her 2008 album, Chameleon) in the International Acoustic Music Awards. Also, she has been included in Relix Magazine's list of artists to watch.
Vox, who now lives in Baltimore, MD, has been averaging 125+ dates for over 6 years, performing at a mixed bag of venues and festivals across the country, Europe, and Canada. Not that Vox is the only current artist to slip in a little ukulele – but the singer-songwriter is dedicated to the tiny instrument, and maybe, just maybe helping make it cool again. She is also known to employ the "mouth trumpet" which she was invited to perform on the Jay Leno Show (Meal or No Meal, Dec. 2009). Currently, Vox is working on her new album, Exact Change, due out in the spring of 2010.
