Omega
Love is a five
piece band based out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Consisting of Jocelyn Geisler
(voice), Jim Barr (keyboards), Luke Williams (guitar), Joe Rusnak (bass), and
Jon Rent (drums). Omega Love has found a unique and intriguing sound that melds
warm, sultry female vocals with progressive, jazz and dance inflected
synth-pop. Still, Omega Love is hard to pin down and claims a long list of
influences ranging from early jazz and soul to modern rock, electronica,
hip-hop and R&B. Their more recognizable influences include Billie Holiday,
Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai, Bjork,
The Roots and many more.
Shortly after their conception in the fall of 2004, the members of Omega Love
decided to live together under one roof within that same year. The band has
since been fully devoted to their collective pursuit of creating and performing
original music that has proven to appeal to a broad demographic. Growing very
close personally and musically, Omega Love has quickly become a driving force
in the independent music scene. Many of the most sought after promoters and
club owners in and around Pittsburgh have quickly taken notice and agree
that Omega Love is the band of choice for any venue or event. As a feature at
some of Pittsburgh’s high-profile gigs, Omega Love has acquired a devout
following through their strong live performance. In June of 2006, the band released their self-titled debut album.
