Red Eye Gravy is a unique Oklahoma music experience. The band creates a stylistic blend of old, traditional country with the fast-paced punch of punk – adding a few hints of bluegrass, rockabilly and blues along the way. Integrating that with the homegrown influences of red dirt music, the sound of Red Eye Gravy embodies a timeless, traditional sound punched-up through the strong conviction for their music.
The band pummels through an electrifying live show that captures the audience from the first burst of piercing vocals to the last notes of their rhythmically warm-rooted sound. Combining a drummer baptized in punk rock, modified vintage lap steel, swinging doghouse bass, a living cowpunk legend and the feverish conviction of its vocalist, Red Eye Gravy will have you believing the Grand Ole Opry was just set on fire and burned to the ground. Whether playing original songs, traditionals, or the occasional cover, this band will deliver an unparalleled show.
Red Eye Gravy has performed in venues across Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, and has shared the stage with such acts as: Junior Brown, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, The Red Dirt Rangers, Randy Crouch and Travis Linville. Joshua was also asked to represent REG solo as an opening act for Scott H. Biram and on Stage 7 of the Walnut Valley Music Festival.
The band has been in the studio working energetically on their debut album, determined to take their time in putting together something they're proud to share – rather than selling a fabricated demo. The album is set to be released early in 2008, with the follow-up, "Dust Bowl Hangover," set for release later the same year.
