Described as a loud, unique and uninhibited amalgamation of Sublime, 311, and Nirvana, Mind's Hideaway is an original, self-styled "Alterna-Jam" rock group composed of four members from the west suburbs of Chicago: Adam Boulton on drums, Graham Bridgman on vocals/guitar, Eric "Heff" Heffernan on guitar, and Nick Bajzek on bass. The band recently added keyboardist/trombonist/vocalist and Alaskan native Joe Day to the lineup.
Since the turn of the century, the band has continued jamming, creating, rehearsing and performing their unique blend of alternative, punk, and jam-style rock n' roll. Along the way they have opened up for such acts as Local H and Mindsight and have played shows with the very best bands the Chicago music scene has to offer at establishments such as The Elbo Room, The Underground Lounge and a series of three sold-out shows at Villa Park’s venerable Lunar Brewery.
Recently the group has teamed up with producer Alex McIntyre (Malas, I Attack) on their latest effort, a 5-song EP titled "Free Money." Seen through the lens of five twenty-something suburbanites, the EP is both a blistering indictment of the current socio-political climate and, at times, a profoundly personal introspective into the places we hide sometimes.
