Swampadelica
Swampadelica Swampadelica is artfully establishing its own voice in todays open ended music scene by infusing Americana with Haitian roots. At once radical and grounded, Swamps instrumentation electrifies this multi-cultural blend with a wide sonic palette created by a modified & mutated Hammond B-3 and electric guitar. The arrival of Nadine LaFond, continues to move Swampadelica in broadening directions. Nadines native Haitian Creole imaginatively wends its way thru the lyrics, grooves & melodies. Founding member Damian Calcagne came out the From Good Homes camp. Damian and Todd Sheaffer (Railroad Earth) toured with FGH and spent a couple of years writing together after FGH disbanded. 2006 finds Swampadelica recording their third full length album back at Trey Anastasios (Phish) Vermont based studio, The Barn with producer/engineer Peter Carini. Live performances have included headlining slots at NJPACs Sounds of the City concert series, Main Stage at Michael Arnones Crawfish Festival (w/The Meters, Irma Thomas, Sonny Landreth, Marcia Ball), NYCs Wetlands, NYCs Coda, Bethlehem Musikfest, All Good Music Festival, and various clubs and theatres in the Northeast.
