Steez
Steez
Steez In the past 4 years, Steez has been one of the University of Wisconsin’s best kept secrets. In these 4 years, Steez has acquired a very devoted fanbase throughout the midwest- primarily through word of mouth. The versatility and uniqueness of their live shows, which often debut a few covers ranging from oldies, disco funk, classic rock, and even movie/tv scores, has led to the demand for the taping and distribution of their live shows. Steez, a five-piece, features Matt Williams on keyboards/synthesizers/accordian, Steve Neary on guitar and vocals, Rob Bessert on drums, Chris Sell on bass, and Andrzej Benkowski adds oboe, saxophone, violin, and vocals; all of which help to propel Steez into a genre of its own. Steez has a fresh sound which is hard to come by and has led the band to become the founders of their own genre of music that they have branded “Creepfunk”. Creepfunk cannot be defined; rather, it can only be understood through experience. Steez often has the ability to relate with their audience through their playful attack on pop culture. Steez has been building a strong relationship with many club owners across the midwest due to the many “steezburgers” that have relentlessly supported the band and have continued to shock clubowners with record setting alcohol sales. Steez completed their first EP, All Systems Bro, in the fall of 2005. The album received airplay throughout southern Wisconsin and has garnered very good reviews often encouraging the release of a full length album. Now that the members of Steez have all graduated from college they are preparing to take it to the next level and complete a national tour. If you use music for dancing, chilling out, or entertaining guests, Steez is the band for you.
