Alex Nackman
Alex Nackman Alex is making a name for himself as a regular in the New York City club scene as he has played in some of New York's top music spaces. Having performed multiple times at CBGB's 313 Gallery, Le Bar Bat, The Acme Underground, The C-Note, The Triad Theater, and The Baggot Inn to name several, Alex is establishing himself as a solo acoustic act who has a lot to offer with his sound. Philadelphia's noteworthy club, The Point, is another venue Alex has frequented throughout his east coast travels. He has shared the stage with fellow New Yorker, Ari Hest and Philadelphia funk/rock band Townhall at a music festival at Franklin & Marshall College (Spring 2003). He has also opened for New Jersey product, Granian, at the Acme Underground back in New York City. "Good Impressions," Alex's debut release, is a mix of clean rhythm guitar with jazz roots as well as melodic ballads that have a hint of British sounds from Coldplay, Doves, and Radiohead. The album is acoustically based and Alex played all instruments including guitar, bass, and violin that are heard on the CD. In addition, Alex sang all vocal parts including harmonies. As Peter Baker of Philadelphia's "Fly Magazine" wrote, "The CD is well-produced and he writes lyrics that betray the fact that Nackman himself is just 19 years old (August 2003)."
