Greenleif
Greenleif GreenLeif was formed in 2003 by Ryan Beke, Brandon Welday, Phil Risko, and Brian Parsons. This band came together with many influences. Inspired by Larry Graham, Sly and the Family Stone, the vocal styles of Chris Cornell, drumming styles of Max Weinberg and John Bonham, and the forever solid bass lines of Les Clay Pool and Flea. The four began to play all over Akron at venues such as The Northside, The Lime Spider, Annabell's, and Musica. Late 2006 Genean Grantham joined the band. She added a extra touch of soul inspired by Aretha Franklin and Shirley Brown. Early in 2009 Eric Samuelson aka "Sammy sax" came to the band adding the smooth sound of the saxophone. GreenLeif is currently working on their second album and sharing stages with artist such as Rachel Roberts, Ekoostik Hookah, The Recipe, and many more. GreenLeif continues to reach new crowds and entertain fans with an original style.
