Charliehorse
Charliehorse Hailing from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Charliehorse is a rowdy original country-rock band whose musical grit has been mined from somewhere between the rocky soil of the Ozarks and the red dirt of neighboring Oklahoma, infused with a healthy dose of New Orleans funk and southern rock attitude. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Cody Russell and bassist Stacy Liles, Charliehorse coalesced around vocalist/guitarist Ben Wardlaw of southwest Missouri after he brought his songs and enthralling voice back from a stint on the west coast. With the addition of two post-Katrina New Orleans transplants, drummer David Bright and lead guitarist/vocalist Brad Helms, the lineup was complete and the mojo intact. Charliehorse released their debut album Come On to rave reviews. The excitement they generated garnered two Northwest Arkansas Music Awards (NAMA) in 2007 including "Band of the Year." In the glow of three 2008 NAMA nominations, the follow-up CD is slated for release this fall. As they make their way up the music industry ladder, Charliehorse has become a support band of choice, having appeared with the following artists:

Cross Canadian Ragweed * Levon Helm and the Barnburners * Jason Boland & The Stragglers * Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash * Shooter Jennings * Fred Eaglesmith * The Avett Brothers * John D. Hale
