StraYrooT began as an acoustic duo formed by Zach White and Tim Griffith. Inspired by their master lyricist, Scott Hirsch, Zach and Tim began playing open mikes throughout the Chicagoland area in 2002, and it wasn’t long before those open mikes started turning into gigs. After gigging as a duo throughout the area for 7 years they realized that the eclectic blend of musical influences in their original music required a full band to truly blossom.
