Opie toured with Everlast in 1998 and with Vanilla Ice in 1999, the same year he was signed by Bad Boy Records. He left that label after creative differences and signed with Wanna Blow Records later that year. He recorded album with D Moet producing, who was the multiplatinum producer for Eminem, Nas and Notorius B.I.G., among others. In order to pursue a live band career, he left that label and formed Freeloderz in 2000. The band eventually broke up and he began working with Falonte Moore in 2001.
