Foxy Moon Baby
Foxy Moon Baby Foxy Moon Baby is an eclectic, multi-instrumental group, which combines improvisation and progressive composition, to create an exciting and unique sound. Featuring playful guitar melodies, exhilarating percussive rhythms, and a horn section, Foxy Moon Baby bends the lines between musical genres with their compositional extravagance. The band’s performances have been known to be “an interesting blend of styles…a wholesome, down-home, friendly vibe” (Brian Wittmer, Director A&R, Universal Music Group).

Formed in the spring of 2001, the origins of Foxy Moon Baby began as a recording experiment between guitarist and composer Dennis Lippe, drummer Casey OConnor, and audio engineer Tom Campbell. Utilizing their in-depth knowledge of jazz harmony and rhythm, the trio composed songs with uncommon time and key signatures, driven by rock and funk beats, and a focus towards unique textures for each song. Eleven original songs, first slated for a Dennis Lippe solo album, were re-arranged and crafted to create a musical sound unique from the humdrum world of popular music.

Near the completion of the album, an opportunity was presented to debut this new and experimental material at Phish's IT Festival. From this opportunity, an 8-piece live band was formed consisting of a 3-piece horn section, dual guitars, and a veteran rhythm section of bass, drums, and percussion. The name created for this live band was Foxy Moon Baby.

With the success and national buzz generated from the It Festival, Foxy Moon Baby pushed into the live music scene establishing notable performances and rotations in venues throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, in addition to performing various festivals including Mayfair and the Doylestown Music & Arts Festival.

During 2005, Foxy Moon Baby relocated to Bayville, NY and changed its line-up to include keyboards and a new rhythm section. After heavy touring over the summer and fall, Foxy Moon Baby began production of their second studio album entitled Dreamer. Released in June 2006, Dreamer continues to break boundaries with FMB’s unique sound.

Foxy Moon Baby is currently touring throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, and is prospecting for a prominent record label to expand their growth.
