Known for their original blend of experimental jazz/funk/rock, booty-shaking grooves, dynamic live shows, and a looney version of the Super Mario Brothers theme song, ulu was a hard-edged instrumental group out of the jamband scene from 1996-2004.
Based in New York City, ulu’s true home was in downtown Manhattan. Throughout the band’s 8 year legacy, they recorded 4 albums and toured the United States relentlessly without various different lineups.
