The Last Bus is an original band from Western Colorado. Formed in 2003,
The Last Bus is putting their own signature sound on the jam scene.
Playing hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals from Tempe to Green Bay
has made these small town boys a formidable asset to the Jam community.
Crafting their art show by show, song by song, building a loyal fan base
as they go. The Last Bus has developed into something worth getting into.
Recipe for Last Bus music; Add one Rob Jones (guitar, lap steel and lead
vocal), one Josh Fabian (bass and backing vocal), one Kevin Vernon (drums
and backing vocal), one Mike Beck (drums and backing vocal) and one Shawn
Cooper(Keys and backing vocal). Marinate their heads with the likes of The
Allman Bros., Return To Forever, The Meters, Phish, Rush, Iron Maiden, The
Grateful Dead, CSNY, King Crimson, MMW and any other musical delicacies
that might be lying around. Combine in the blender of life. Form into a
band that thrives on playing in the moment, while reaching for new
unexpected heights. The result is an original, succulent jam filled blend
of funky, bad-ass music.
The key to any band is to have a good drummer. The Bus is a very fortunate
band. They have two of the most experienced and incredibly talented
drummers in the land! The dynamic of having both Mike and Kevin playing
drums together is like none other. Their approach is anything but similar;
which allows for a syncopated river of weaving rhythm for Josh to drop
cannon ball bass bombs. Shawn's other worldly keyboard style keeps the Bus
close to the edge of the musical cliffs. Right in the middle of this heavy
rhythm is Rob with his intense whirlwind guitar and lap steel. Robs
playing has definitely evolved into that of a seasoned veteran, seasoned
with a fiery habanera pepper that is! Vocally The Last Bus boasts all four
members laying into the rich chorus lines with Rob taking the leads. Be
sure to check out The Last Bus when they pass through your town!
